Training my mind to be one-pointed has made a huge impact on my life. As a former (and let’s be honest…current, struggling) multi-tasker and self-proclaimed performance enhancer, I speak from experience! To focus on one thing at a time is a great skill that comes with much practice. With all the culture around mulit-tasking and “efficiency” today, it’s hard to imagine a world where we all give each other the attention we deserve. We are focused on so many social media outlets, tabs on our computers, news, and any other thing that comes into our area of focus. Our vitality seeps out by each of these making it harder to develop one pointed attention. Being mindful can help with this practice. Next time you are doing a task, resist the urge to switch back and forth. Give that one task your complete and full attention as if it were the only thing that mattered in the whole universe. In this way we can train our minds to focus better thus increasing our mental sharpness and quality connections with others.

Stay mindful,

Kylie
